Message from the Principal

I’d like to extend a warm welcome to you all. As always, this school year promises to be an exciting one here at Orchard Dale Elementary. We are fortunate to have the strong support of our PTA, our families, and our community members. The teachers at Orchard Dale are committed to working diligently to ensure the academic success of all our students. We are proud to be one of California’s Distinguished Schools. A very select number of schools receive this award. It is representative of a school with high test scores, high attendance rates, strong academic programs, and strong parent support.

Our academic goals are directly aligned to the rigorous standards that have been set by the State of California. We are committed to ensuring that each of our students becomes proficient in the areas of English-Language Arts and Math. I encourage you as parents to become as committed to your child’s academic progress as we are by making the time to supervise your child’s homework and to either read to your child or listen to your child read to you. We know that parental involvement is critical to the success of our students. I guarantee that if you make your child’s education your number one priority, your child will too.

As parents and community members, there are many ways for you to make a difference by becoming involved at Orchard Dale. We are always looking for volunteers in our Media Center, our classrooms, and to assist with special event days and evenings. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher. We appreciate all that our PTA does for our school, such as providing opportunities for our students to experience field trips, assemblies, music classes, and funding our Skills for Success Program with folders, binders, and agenda planners.

The staff and I look forward to working with you this year. If at any time you have a concern or a recommendation regarding your child’s program, please give me a call. I welcome all parent input and I value you as important members of our team. Together we can make it an outstanding year for your child!
