Welcome to the 24-25 School Year

Dear EWCSD Students, Staff, and Families,

As we prepare for the 2024-2025 school year, we would like to extend a warm welcome to our students, staff, and families. This new school year brings new challenges, opportunities, and growth, and we are excited about the journey ahead.

At EWCSD, success is not just measured by academic achievement, but by development of the five essential skills of Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, and Community. To develop these skills, we are proud to offer opportunities that enhance the educational experience while helping our students discover new passions, foster creativity, and develop leadership skills.

This year, we look forward to expanding our Broad Course of Study initiative, which offers students valuable opportunities to develop 21st century skills during the instructional day. Our STEM classes ignite innovation among students and prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow's world. Additionally, our art and music programs nurture self-expression and imagination, allowing students to try new things and become more creative. Our extended P.E. program builds teamwork qualities and enhances personal growth.

We are also excited about continuing to empower student voice through leadership opportunities. Through our Student Advisory Committee and the Student Board Member programs, EWCSD is committed to building a foundation of success for students that will pay dividends far beyond their time in our district. Students in leadership roles learn the importance of collaboration, community involvement, and communication to enhance their school communities. This year, we will continue to create platforms for student leadership and advocacy, ensuring their collective voices are heard and valued.

As we embark on this new school year, we look forward to embracing the possibilities and celebrating our achievements as we work together to “Open the Door to Every Child’s Future.”

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Sincerely,

Marc Patterson,

Superintendent
